  • Connection Timelines: Powershop can provide same-day electricity connections when possible. Whereas OVO provides energy to new customers within 5 days. 
  • Gas Supply: Powershop does not have gas availability in some areas whereas OVO’s gas services depend on the existing supplier.
  • Both retailers aim to provide a good experience where Powershop focuses on flexibility for existing customers and OVO focuses on structured processes and help for new customers.

OVO Energy: OVO requests meter when customers move in or our of a home to calculate an accurate estimate for the bill. For homes switching to OVO the existing supplier may also need to finalise their charges. Customers are also guided on how to find and submit readings.

Powershop: Powershop services are available in Victoria, New South Wales, South East Queensland and South Australia. Gas is however, limited to most of Victoria and some parts of NSW. Movers need to confirm the availability at their new home/address. 

OVO Energy: OVO operates in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia and they only connect electricity.
