- Time of Use (ToU) Tariffs – ToU tariffs were introduced to SA electricity prices in July 2020, meaning residents can now make some huge savings by using their energy during shoulder or off-peak times when rates can be as little as half that of peak periods. In SA, there is an off-peak period from 10am to 3pm, known as the Solar Sponge, when the supply of solar energy is at its highest.
- Distribution Costs – for the majority of customers in SA, power is distributed to their homes by SA Power Networks. In some remote areas of the state, Cowell Electric Supply has been contracted by the SA government to operate the generation, distribution and retail services of electricity to the majority of remote townships and Aboriginal communities.
