Utility connection brand partnership

Movers re-evaluate everything at once. Very few audiences do.

A utility connection brand partnership puts your brand in front of Australians at the point they move and actively choose new household services.

This page covers the audience moment, the two partnership models, how each is measured and how brand safety is handled.

The audience moment

The move is a switching window

  5. Step 5New choices settle inDecisions tend to stick

Movers change several household services within a short window: energy, internet, insurance, appliances and more. Few consumer moments concentrate that much switching behaviour, and most brands only reach these households afterwards, through retargeting.

A partnership changes the timing. Your brand appears while the decision is being made, inside a comparison the mover has chosen to use, instead of chasing them for weeks once the choice is already made.

Sold as an audience moment, not a rate card

This is the one partnership that sells a moment rather than a commission. Category, exclusivity and scope shape each arrangement, and success is defined before anything runs.

  • Energy and internet retailers, insurance, home services, finance and appliances
  • Category exclusivity is sometimes available
  • Built to run for at least a quarter, so results are measurable
Partnership options

Built around your category

Each brand partnership is structured around your category and objective, with the scope, measures and any exclusivity agreed in writing before launch.

There is no rate card, because the honest answer depends on what you are trying to achieve. A co-marketing partnership around utility connection suits a brand that wants reach and content, while placement suits one that wants to be in the consideration set at the moment of choice.

Movers are never charged for the connection service, and placement never changes which plan is recommended. The retailers on the panel remain bound by consumer protections overseen by the Australian Energy Regulator (checked September 2026), so your brand appears beside a service that stays independent.

Pricing depends on the model and the scope, so every arrangement starts with a conversation about the audience, the timing and what success looks like.

Services we offer movers

Two models

Placement and co-marketing

Placement and co-marketing are two different products with different economics, and the right one depends on your category and what you need to move.

A moving services brand partnership works best when the model matches the goal. Placement reaches movers inside the comparison, and co-marketing reaches them around the wider move-in window.

Placement

At the point of comparison

A utility connection media partnership that places your brand in front of movers while they are actively choosing providers, not passively browsing.

Placements are clearly marked as commercial, sit alongside the independent comparison and are measured against the metric agreed before launch.

  1. Mover compares
  2. Brand is considered
  3. Results measured

Co-marketing

Around the move-in window

Joint content or campaigns built for the move-in window rather than repurposed from another channel, reported against the measure you agreed at the start. Where your category serves businesses as well as households, co-marketing can extend to business relocations, which concentrate the same switching behaviour into an office move and reach decision-makers at a moment they are choosing new suppliers.

  1. Audience agreed
  2. Campaign goes live
  3. Renewed on evidence
Partner types

The same model across partner types

Self-storage operators

Self-storage sites see movers weeks before the move, which makes their customers an early and well-defined audience for a brand. Read how this works for self-storage operators to see how that earlier signal is captured, and where a brand campaign could meet the same customer at sign-up.

Removalists

Removalists hold a confirmed move date and destination at booking, which is the most precise timing any partner has. See how this works for removalists if your category depends on reaching a household in the fortnight before they move, rather than weeks after the boxes are unpacked.

Real estate agencies

Real estate agencies reach both buyers and tenants at signing, which is often the first moment a move becomes certain. Understanding how this works for real estate agencies shows the volume and timing behind the audience, and why the move-in window is short but predictable for a brand.

What changes

Better for you. Better for your client.

A brand partnership reaches a household at a rare, narrow decision point, and gives the mover offers that fit the moment instead of noise.

Every placement sits inside a service movers already choose to use, which is why the audience is receptive rather than resistant. The anchor is the connection service itself, which compares retailers and books services for free, so your brand appears beside something genuinely useful rather than interrupting the mover with an advert.

For the mover, the value is relevance: offers that fit what they are deciding this week, clearly marked as commercial, and always optional.

For your brand

A rare, narrow window

An affinity partnership in Australia rarely gets a moment this concentrated. The move-in period is short, its timing is knowable in advance, and intent is genuinely high.

Movers are not only choosing energy and internet in that fortnight of the move. They are busy working their way through everything a mover reorganises at once, from insurance to appliances, which is why a relevant brand placed at the right moment earns attention it could not buy a month later.

  • Measured against an agreed metric
  • Built per partner, not off a rate card
For the mover

Relevance, not noise

Offers that fit the moment, rather than retargeting that follows the mover for a month afterwards.

Placement is timed to the decision itself, not to a browsing session days or weeks before it. It appears right at the moment a mover connects power and chooses other services, clearly marked as commercial, and it never overrides the independent comparison or changes which plan is recommended.

Relevance also means being honest with movers about cost, because trust in the comparison is what makes a placement work. Movers can see a clear explanation of what the connection costs a customer, which is nothing for the service itself, so a brand offer never appears to be the price of getting connected.

Brand partnerships sit alongside the referral and brokerage arrangements offered to agencies, brokers and operators whose customers move. To see how the audience is built, and how those partners bring movers to the comparison in the first place, read about the full partner program before scoping what a partnership with your brand could realistically look like in its first quarter of activity and beyond.

Before anything runs

Brand safety and approval

Nothing runs under your brand without your written approval, and every placement is reviewed against Australian Consumer Law before it goes live.

What we require

Commercial arrangements are disclosed to movers. A paid placement is never presented as an independent recommendation.

What we won't do

Let placement override the comparison. If a plan that pays less is better for the mover, that is the one recommended.

Everything is reviewed before it runs

All brand placements must comply with Australian Consumer Law, and where energy products are involved, the relevant energy retail rules apply as well. The ACCC sets out the rules on misleading claims and advertising that every placement is checked against (checked September 2026).

Point of move marketing only works while movers trust the service, so claims and creative are reviewed before launch and reporting is agreed in writing, not chosen afterwards.

This describes how the approval process runs. It is not legal advice on your own advertising obligations.

Questions

What retailers and brands ask us

Every arrangement is scoped individually, so these answers cover the questions brands raise first. The rest is best handled in a short call about your category.

What is an affinity partnership?

An arrangement where a brand offers a partner's service to its own customers as a benefit. Here that means offering your customers a free, independent utility connection at the point they move.

How do brand partnerships work with a connection service?

Two models. Placement puts your brand in front of movers at the point of connection. Co-marketing means we promote to each other's audiences under an agreed plan.

Why are movers a valuable audience?

Because they re-evaluate almost every household service at once. Very few consumer moments concentrate that much switching behaviour into a short window.

Is there a cost to participate?

It depends on the model. Placement and co-marketing are structured per arrangement rather than on a fixed rate card, so it starts with a conversation.

How is brand safety handled?

Everything is reviewed before it runs. Nothing goes to a customer under your brand without your written approval.
