Removalist referral program

You already have the move date. That's the hard part.

By the time someone books a truck, they have committed to a date and an address. Those are the two details every utility connection needs, and they are already in your booking system.

This page covers how the removalist referral program works, what it earns per job, the admin it adds (none) and why it helps your reviews.

At the moment of booking

The removalist referral program adds one question to your booking: if the customer says yes, we connect their power, gas and internet for the move date.

  1. Step 1The customer books their moveDate and destination confirmed
  2. You are hereStep 2Your team asks one questionOr a tick box on the online form
  3. Step 3We call the customerWeeks ahead of the move
  4. Step 4Every service bookedReady for the move date
  5. Step 5Commission lands monthlyNo invoicing on your side

Removalists book weeks ahead, which is the ideal lead time for a connection and earlier than almost any other partner hears about a move. With the destination and date already confirmed, one question at booking is enough for us to get the power on for the move date, and to line up gas and internet so the customer walks into a working home on the day the truck arrives.

The question can sit in three places: a line on the phone script, a tick box on the online booking form, or a link in the confirmation email. Whichever you choose, the booking itself does not change.

Built into the booking you already take

Removalists capture the move date at booking, which no other partner does. That makes your referral the most operationally useful one we receive, and it sits with your other moving quote add ons without changing the price.

  • A tick box on the online booking form
  • One line on the phone script
  • A link or QR code on the confirmation email

Commission

What this is actually worth to you

Your business earns an agreed commission on each service that connects for a customer you refer, paid monthly per completed connection.

A utility connection service for removalists pays on connections that complete, not on referrals made. The estimator works per move booked, so you can see removalist revenue per job without guessing.

Your customer is never charged. The connection costs them nothing beyond the advertised rates of the retailer they pick, and every retailer on the panel remains subject to the consumer protections overseen by the Australian Energy Regulator (checked September 2026).

Commission is itemised per customer every month, so there is no invoicing and nothing to chase at the end of a busy season. The same commission basis applies across every partner type in the full partner program, whether you run one truck or a fleet across several states, and whether you refer a handful of jobs or every booking.

Your commission estimate

What the estimator shows, and what it does not

The estimator at the top of this page treats each booking as one customer move, assumes a conservative share connect, and applies two services at an indicative rate. Your real schedule comes in writing.

What you get, beyond the commission

Protecting the customer's move-in day matters as much to a removalist as the commission, because that day is what ends up in the review.

Most add-ons need labour, packing materials or time on site. This one needs none of them, which is why it works as extra revenue for removalists without touching the job itself.

It also changes what the customer remembers. A crew that arrives to a house with no power has a harder day, and the customer tends to blame the whole move rather than the retailer.

No extra admin

One question at booking. No forms, no follow-up and no chasing, because the removalist partner program hands everything after the yes to our team.

Late bookings still work. Where a customer books a move for later the same week, we check the state cut-off and arrange same-day connection where it is possible, telling the customer plainly about any retailer fee before anything is booked, so there are no surprises for them or for your crew.

A better customer experience

Arriving to a house with the power on is the difference between a good move and a bad review. Utility connections for moving companies protect the part of the day your crew cannot control.

Customers now expect the wifi to work as soon as the boxes are down, especially when they work from home. Booking ahead of the technician window means internet live on arrival wherever the address is ready for it, instead of a week of hotspots and a frustrated customer writing a review.

Margin on every job

It is revenue with no delivery cost, no vehicle time and no extra staff, earned on bookings you have already won.

The value per job grows when a customer connects more than one service, which most do. When a home has both, the customer gets power and gas in one call, and each connected service adds to the commission on that booking without adding a single minute to the job itself.

See what converted

A monthly summary shows which referrals connected, which were uncontactable and which declined. Multi-depot operators can see results per depot or per booking channel.

Partner types

The same model across partner types

Self-storage operators

Many moves pass through a storage unit on the way, and the storage operator often hears about the move at the same time you do. Read how this works for self-storage operators, so a customer moving via storage is referred once and connected for the date they actually arrive at the new address.

Property managers

Tenants often book their removalist in the same week their lease is signed, so a property manager may already be arranging connections. It is worth seeing how this works for property managers, because the earliest referral leads and the tenant receives one call about their connections rather than two separate ones in the same week.

Real estate agencies

Agents and removalists often share exactly the same customers in the same busy fortnight, especially around settlement day and lease starts. See how this works for real estate agencies, so the agent's welcome pack and your booking confirmation point the customer to one independent service instead of competing offers.

Questions

What removalists ask us

Customers moving house are juggling far more than their utilities, and a good removalist often gets asked about the rest. When that happens, a plain checklist of what a customer has to organise when moving can go in the same confirmation email, which keeps your team helpful without adding any extra calls to the office.

How do removalists earn referral commission?

Add a line to your booking form asking whether the customer wants their utilities connected. Pass the details and the move date. Commission is paid on each connection that completes.

What extra services can a removalist offer?

Utility connection is the most natural, because you already hold the move date and address. It costs the customer nothing and improves their move-in experience.

Do removalists connect utilities?

Not directly. You refer the customer and we handle the comparison, the retailer and the booking, so no extra admin falls on your team.

When should a customer connect power before moving?

At least three business days before the move date. Because removalists book weeks ahead, referrals from removalists usually have the best lead time of any partner type.

Does this affect our reviews?

Partners generally report it helps. A customer arriving to a home with the power already on is a better moving day, and that is what gets reviewed.
